Easter Recap!

For Easter, Andy and I were able to help with Crossroads Sunrise Service. It was actually the 32nd Annual Sunrise Service offered at 27th Ave. Park in New Smyrna Beach. In order to have the service run as planned we had to wake up at 4:00 a.m. in order to begin the set up process at 5:30. Service started at 7:00 and took place right on the beach with a goal in mind to end right at 7:24, as the sun rose over the horizon. Well everything worked out great-it's even being said that this year was the largest turn out, yet-however, the sun did not break through the heavy clouds. We still had a great time celebrating the fact that Christ rose from the dead in order to give us new life. Ben did a great job with his message-taking us through the week of Passion. Reminding each and everyone of us what that week was like for Jesus. The Praise Team did a great job and we even had a special with Brandon reciting Isaiah 40:28-31 at the end of the service. It's incredible to hear a 2nd grader proclaim God's Word. We also offered a Worship Service at 8:00 and had an awesome turnout for that! It's amazing to me to see the impact such a holiday has on people who normally wouldn't be in church.

Well, seeing as it is a holiday and there are some fun traditions-Andy and I did get each other an "Easter Basket" but in a different form. Andy gave me Easter dishes-a fun colletion of plates and bowls in which he used the bowl to fill with candy! And I got him a charging dock-much more applicable then a basket full of Easter grass and a golf bucket that he can put balls in. We figured that unless we save and reuse the basket there's really no point in getting one.

For Easter dinner we offered to make dinner for the Kids Are Us family-Andy is hooked on corn beef for the time being and so we made that and told the kids that it's Traditional Easter Dinner-consisting of rabbit and his favorite food-carrots! The two older kids caught on quickly that it really was rabbit but by the end of the night the little kids were saying that we had the "Easter Bunny" for dinner!! Reguardless all of the kids wanted seconds and we had a great time with them!! I'm sad to report that I don't have a picture of our "traditional" Easter dinner or the family that we spent Easter with.

I guess this is one of my longer posts and it should come to an end. To keep a long post short Andy and I hope that you and your family had a very blessed and enjoyable Easter!
