...where is fall?

Yesterday in the sunshine state we broke the record high of 92 degrees by hitting 94 degrees. This just is NOT the type of weather you think of when we're in the season of Autumn. Andy and I love fall but we miss it!!

Here's a picture of Emery-in honor of our favorite season our house is a bit decorated and she absolutely loves the pumpkins!! She knocks them off the end tables and bats them all around the house. What a fun cat!!!

Summer Vacation!

You know that the summer is coming to an end when everyone is talking about back to school and fall schedules and there is a change in the air. Well, we finally made it there and now we're on vacation. We had a super busy summer with me running the Summer Rec program at Glencoe and all of the many and exciting happenings at church. Andy was even out of town for a week with the puppet team. Anyway-back to our vacation-we are in "the North" aka. New Hampshire with a side trip to Boston!

While in Boston we saw a great game at Fenway Park-probably one of Andy's most favorite things!! We also walked the Freedom Trail and toured the USS Constitution-which is still an active, commissioned US Navy sailing vessel.

We're staying with Andy's parents and enjoying our time relaxing, catching up on some reading, and cooler weather!!

Daytona Cubs and Downtown Disney...

...just a few of the things we've been up to. A few games that we've been to in Daytona were delayed or canceled due to the weather. Either way there's been an exciting show! Friday we went to a game and the second picture is the view we had. The weather sent a few tornado warnings our way but after the storm came the calm and a great ball game!! We also meet some friends at Downtown Disney for dinner at the T-Rex Cafe' and some Boardwalk fun!!

We've also been gearing up for a few more schedule changes with the school year right around the corner!! I'll be teaching 5th and 6th grade at Glencoe Classical Academy!! I'm so excited and am busy previewing books and writing lesson plans. This week we have Teen VBS every night and I'll be participating in a 3-day teaching training conference.

It's an exciting time of year for us and we hope the same for you!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Well it's been well over a month since our last post and I hope that everyone is doing great!! We're still here and just as busy as can be!! Today we had an easy and relaxed day that ended with fireworks at the river: here in Edgewater.

it's been a while but we're back and hope that you and your family had a great Memorial Day weekend. we spent Monday morning at a Memorial Day service right down the road and then the rest of the day watching baseball and relaxing. today was the beginning of Summer Rec at Glencoe and it's a change of pace for us. I'm running the summer program and that means working from 8:00-5:30 everyday. (of course I have to be there a little earlier than 8:00-and I don't think Andy likes that very much!)
